My acrylic ink paintings are meditative and improvisational explorations of mind and metaphysical concepts. They depict flow, interconnection, history, life processes, contagion, and communication. In my painting process I desire to balance randomness and control. The paintings are both microscopic and macroscopic; views of individual organisms and social organisms, geological and celestial formations. They are musings about self within environment--contemplating the natural world and the world of human constructs and attempting to understand the relationship and mirror between the two. I think of them as interdisciplinary fractals.
